Acupuncture for Patients with Allergic Rhinitis or Hay Fever

It is conservatively estimated that there are more than 500 million Allergic Rhinitis patients worldwide.

Symptoms include sneezing, nasal itching, blockage and watery nasal discharge.

Desensitizing drugs such as nasal glucocorticoids and antihistamine are commonly used to treat these conditions but this method has a long treatment period and the sufferer is prone to repeated attacks and there are sometimes certain adverse reactions.

Despite advances in conventional therapies, a remarkable number of patients with allergic rhinitis are turning to acupuncture treatment for relief.

Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been used in China for thousands of years. Acupuncture treatment is drug free and is currently practiced in over 40 countries worldwide. There is considerable published evidence that it modulates the immune system and helps the body's natural healing process. It is safe with no adverse effects and can be used alongside conventional treatment.

Dr Ruolin Sun has been running the acupuncture clinic in Winchester for 20 years. She recommends a course of between 8-12 acupuncture treatments for relief of symptoms and an improved quality of life.
