Pain (neck pain, back pain, neuralgia)

What is Pain?

Pain can take many forms and can often follow a serious injury or be associated with significant underlying disease. Many patients suffer from osteo or rheumatoid arthritis or even gout and over a period of time this can lead to joint damage and associated pain.

Neck pain can be related to cervical spondylosis or underlying damage to the intervertebral discs.
Back pain is very common - for example 60% of individuals complain of back pain at some point in any two week period. In most sufferers the pain is due to minor injuries. In more severe cases there may be more serious underlying pathology such as a 'slipped' disc. This can cause pressure on the nerve roots resulting in referred pain down the leg – as in sciatica.
Neuralgia is pain in the nerve itself which may be associated with many significant conditions but, often, no underlying cause can be diagnosed. The pain can be severe and debilitating.

Treatments for Pain (neck pain, back pain, neuralgia) are available at Winchester, London, Basingstoke, Oxford, Chichester, Bournemouth and Poole.
