Counselling is a contractual arrangement between client(s) and counsellor to meet in a safe and confidential environment to explore difficulties. These may include anxiety, stress, depression, loss/bereavement and relationship problems.

The aim of counselling is to provide time and space to explore these
difficulties and to guide individuals into feeling they have some control over their lives rather than feeling they are victims of circumstances. Counselling may be suggested by other practitioners but the patient/client is responsible for making the appointment.

The first appointment is an opportunity to clarify individual needs and
practical issues such as timing, cost and further sessions.
